Mobile “Go Pen” Promos Move World Fuel Services into Tradeshow Success

Challenge: Find an unconventional, engaging and industry-related promotional giveaway to drive show and post-show traffic

World Fuel Services, with 600 people in 43 offices in 23 countries, is a leading provider of fuel and fuel management services for the aviation, marine and ground transportation industries. In other words, World Fuel helps its clients “go.” To reach for new clients, and to continue to touch existing clients, the World Fuel team leverages the power of tradeshows, which provide important opportunities for reaching and touching, for building and strengthening relationships with customers.

The World Fuel team has worked with ePromos on numerous tradeshow promotions; they recently turned to us once again for help in converting our tradeshow know-how in to success for them. This time, the team sought something unconventional, something new, something compelling and engaging—a promotional product that would both drive booth traffic during the show and continue to attract attention long after the tradeshow was through.

Solution: Industry-related “Go Pen” with removable, movable, die-cast airplane

The winning promotion, which tied perfectly to the World Fuel theme, soon became clear: a unique “Go Pen” with a removable, die-cast metal, micro-engine airplane. It’s the “removable” part that really makes this pen shine: recipients quickly discovered that they could remove the airplane from the pen, pull it back along a solid surface, and then release and watch it “go”! Not only would the pens appeal to the inner child in every transportation industry executive, but, being imprinted with the World Fuel logo and Web address, they would also drive brand recognition and Web traffic after the show.

Result: Quirky pens are the talk of the show; drive high booth traffic and post-show Web visits

The World Fuel team reports that visitors to the World Fuel booth loved the creative giveaway. They also reported that the “Go Pen” was the talk of the floor, drawing heavy traffic to the firm’s tradeshow booth.
